Meet Tracy: A Grounded Approach to Yoga, Movement, and Well-Being

At Luminescence, we believe yoga is about so much more than movement. It's about creating space to breathe, reconnect, and find balance in the midst of everyday life. That's exactly what you'll discover in Tracy's classes.

Tracy moved to Calgary in 1997 to pursue a career in aviation, but it wasn't long before she found a second passion that would shape her life in an entirely different way. After beginning her yoga practice in local studios and continuing to explore it at home, yoga quickly became a powerful source of strength, grounding, and personal transformation.

Inspired by the teachings of B. K. S. Iyengar, Tracy began her teacher training in 2002 and earned her Level 1 Iyengar Yoga Teaching Certification in 2015. Her classes are rooted in the principles of precision, alignment, strength, flexibility, and self-awareness. Using props as valuable teaching tools, she creates an inclusive environment where students of all ages, abilities, and experience levels can safely explore their practice and experience the benefits of yoga.

Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or have been practising for years, Tracy meets you where you are. Her thoughtful instruction, encouraging nature, and gentle sense of humor make every class both engaging and accessible. She believes that yoga should challenge you without overwhelming you, leaving you feeling stronger, more balanced, and more connected to yourself.

As a mother of twin boys, Tracy understands that life is busy and often unpredictable. She brings this perspective into every class, encouraging students to embrace progress over perfection and to find moments of calm and steadiness they can carry beyond the studio.

Through mindful movement and breath awareness, students can expect to build strength, improve posture and flexibility, enhance stability and resilience, and cultivate a quieter, more focused mind. Tracy's goal is to help each person develop a sustainable practice that supports both physical health and emotional well-being.

Integrating Energy Enhancement with Yoga Practice

At Luminescence, we are also open to collaborating with other yoga instructors who are interested in integrating Energy Enhancement (EE) practices into their teaching. We see this as a powerful opportunity to deepen the impact of traditional yoga by supporting energetic balance, nervous system regulation, and overall vitality.

When combined with yoga, EE practices can complement physical alignment and breath awareness by helping practitioners experience a more integrated sense of body, mind, and energy. Many students find that this combination enhances their ability to relax more deeply, focus more clearly, and recover more effectively from stress and physical tension.

We welcome instructors who feel aligned with this approach to connect with us and explore how EE can be thoughtfully woven into their classes or offerings. Our intention is to support collaboration, learning, and expanded tools for holistic well-being within the yoga community.

In addition to teaching yoga, Tracy is also a highly experienced massage therapist. She will be offering massage therapy appointments in the Bliss treatment room on (days to be announced). Her extensive knowledge of anatomy and movement beautifully complements her yoga teaching, providing another way to support clients on their wellness journey.
