Mellisa Nichols
For Mellisa, yoga and meditation became more than a physical practice—it became lifeline. During her journey into motherhood, she faced the challenge of crippling postpartum depression. One day, an invitation to a yoga class changed everything. In that space, she felt a spark of peace and joy she hadn’t experienced in years, and that moment became the beginning of her healing and self-discovery.
What began as a search for relief soon turned into an awakening—an inner shift that helped her reconnect with herself and rediscover a sense of lightness and joy. Inspired to share what had helped her so profoundly, Mellisa immersed herself in the Himalayan Tradition of Yoga and Meditation, completing a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Sunshine Yoga Academy, followed by a 300-hour advanced yoga training, studies in Ayurveda, Reiki, Meditation Teacher Training, Somatic Trauma Therapy Certification, and time spent studying in India. Most recently she completed training in Advanced Myofascial Yoga with the Myofascial Yoga Institute of Canada and has deepened her meditation practice through Vipassana.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Mellisa deeply values living a life steeped in mindfulness—where yoga extends far beyond time spent on the mat and becomes a way of moving through daily life with presence, compassion, and joy.
Her classes reflect her own path: warm, gentle, playful, and rooted in compassion. She believes in movement as medicine—using yoga to calm the nervous system, nourish the fascia, build strength, and help students reconnect with themselves in an embodied and authentic way.
